In the past few years, a number of companies in varying industries have focused much of their effort on recovering from the recession. While some took a harder hit than others, many are focused on how to bring a fresh approach to business so as to focus on growth and success in a healthier market. In doing so, digital workstyle services are gaining greater importance and Allot Communications (News - Alert) is reaping the benefits.
The company recently announced a new contract with Wick Hill. The latter is now shipping Allot Service Gateway (News - Alert) Tera, a high-performance DPI-based platform designed to power Digital Workstyle Services deployments. The focus for the solution is mobile and fixed data networks on cloud-based network services (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN).
Wick Hill (News - Alert) representatives see the opportunity as exciting, as they deliver a smooth migration path for customers looking to SDN and virtualization. They not only enjoy the promised benefits of the new platform, they also minimize their capital investment. These benefits alone are helping to drive the demand for the solution as Allot has received multimillion dollars’ worth of orders from four different fixed line and mobile operators.
The new offering is designed to provide companies with a unified framework to support both physical and virtual service deployment across any available access network. It serves as a single point of integration for cloud-based and network services. When deployed, users gain access to video optimization, real-time traffic management, policy enforcement, security services and application-based charging.
Allot Communications continues to sign contracts with providers throughout the world, including a recent announcement with an Asian Tier-1 mobile operator. Allot will be the provider of its video optimization solution and its Allot Service Gateway for deployment across the operator’s national network. The deployed solution will support 15 million subscribers and is the first time this carrier will use Allot to support subscriber demands.
At the same time, Allot Communications is gaining more attention from third parties for its solutions and its ability to integrate with other providers. TMCnet recently posted an article on a joint solution between PeerApp and Allot Communications. The joint solution combines technologies from both companies and was recently nominated by NTT (News - Alert) Advanced Technology and won Best of Show in the Performance Optimization category at Interop Tokyo. The solution was selected as winner among more than 200 vendors invited to participate.
As the demand for digital workstyle services continues to grow, companies like Allot will continue to see opportunities. The company is demonstrating its value in the marketplace well, meeting the needs of growing companies and partnering with proven providers to expand its value and its reach.
