With the support of the GE SG series of uninterrupted power systems, CoreSpace is now unveiling a new service level agreement guarantee for power protection in its Dallas data center.
CoreSpace said that it owns and operates 30,000 square feet of environmentally controlled, secure data center space in its Dallas headquarters facility and the SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II certified facility is loaded with features like high-speed network availability, around the clock online and in-person access, multiple power configurations, redundant conditioned power along with a wide variety of managed services options that are said to be available at the lowest prices in the industry.
CoreSpace now increased the energy savings and power reliability of its data center by installing a 500-kilovolt GE SG Series UPS system to replace more than 230 distributed single-phase UPS units connected to each of the individual 45-U server racks.
“Power efficiency is a critical factor in controlling the operational expenses in our data centers,” said Liana Dunlap, president and chief executive officer at CoreSpace. “The GE UPS system has dramatically reduced our overall power usage, significantly cutting our power costs and providing savings we can pass directly to our customers. As a full-service data center and hosting provider, availability is a vital performance measurement for us. Since installing the GE UPS system, we are able to deliver higher levels of service and support for our customers.”
According to GE Energy, its SG series is one of the most efficient and reliable three-phase UPS systems designed to deliver high output performance and critical power protection for data centers. By guaranteeing low input current harmonic distortion and higher output voltage regulation and dynamic response, the UPS systems ensure that customers are able to bring down the operational costs associated with deploying environmentally friendly solutions.
Jeff Schnitzer, general manager of GE’s critical power business, added, “GE’s energy efficient and reliable UPS technology not only boosted CoreSpace’s energy savings, it helped shift their business model to expand their service reliability for a host of new data center customers.”
