He has not even completed his first month in office, but Server Technology’s (News - Alert) Vice President of International Sales Marc Marazzi is already making his name known at the Reno, Nev.-based data center power distribution company –even though he’s based overseas in the UK.
“What this role gives me is the ability to do much more than just work with the channel; we can work with end users and I get to work with the team here from a marketing perspective. I am a bit of a power freak, so I like the ability to have the vice president of international power role,” Marazzi told TMCnet, with a laugh.
For Marazzi, the former Director of IT Channel for Emerson Network Power (News - Alert), his previous stints at Emerson have more than prepared him for his role at Server Technology, as he has held various positions from Director of Marketing for Europe to Director of Global Marketing Services to Director of Software Sales for Europe – roles that have had him doing everything from lead generation to Web management to marketing initiatives to selling products.
In his new role at Server Technology, a position that will oversee sales in South America, UK, EMEA (Europe, Mideast and Africa), and APAC (Asia Pacific region), Marazzi will wear many hats once again, but will cast particular attention to beefing up Server Technology’s international efforts.
“Server Technology has been so successful in the US and generally speaking the US adopts technology faster than international,” Marazzi said. “Server Technology has seen the way that international business and international requirements are starting to trend, and wants a bigger piece of the action. They believe they can absolutely get that bigger piece of the action, but the only way to do that when you are in Reno is to have someone driving that for you in Europe. Server Technology currently has sales offices in England, Germany and Singapore. Based out of London, Marazzi will help expand Server Technology’s international presence, particularly since the data center power distribution company has already established such a strong base in the US.
Server Technology – the world’s leading provider of data center power distribution products – offers a multitude of power distribution and monitoring solutions that help manage power capacity, reduce downtime and improve energy efficiency. Server Technology’s Sentry CDUs are engineered and manufactured to meet the highest quality standards and are 100 percent performance tested for reliability and accuracy.
Marazzi has always known of Server Technology, he said, and the company’s high-quality products and place in the marketplace attracted him to the company.
“If we look at customer behavior, the way customers buy and select technology has really changed over the years; they have become so demanding,” Marazzi said. “Certainly now with the importance in data and the expediency in getting information, data center infrastructure managers demand more and can get more out of their infrastructure and one of the key areas is power. Server Technology is poised to customize and deliver clients exactly what they need in terms of their requirements.”
“By having such high quality products , wee are in such an important part of the data center now. It is really exciting for me to get involved and help drive that message to the market,” he added. “With Server Technology and our hardware and software solutions, I think what we are delivering to the market is an ability to make all the other parts of their data center look good because they’ve got the power part of it right.”
As Marazzi settles into his role in the coming months, he is keeping a keen eye toward the European and overseas market, such as the Middle East – regions in which Server Technology can introduce its capabilities based on the regions’ needs and where they are in terms of their maturity in the data center market. Specifically, Marazzi will focus on where Server Technology can be effective and where it can deliver the most value to the customers.
Server Technology can be particularly helpful for those that are serious about running a five 9s data center, or having availability of 99.999 percent of the time. In order to run a five9s data center, companies need power capabilities to monitor, measure and manage infrastructure.
So how does Server Technology feel about its newest team member?
“We have recognized the increased demand for our products and solutions internationally in the last year and are looking forward to revving up our efforts with Marc and our current international sales team, ” Julie Brown, marketing manager at Server Technology, told TMCnet.
