Outlook Email Connector for Salesforce Announced by LiveOffice

LiveOffice Outlook Email Connector for Salesforce will be launched by LiveOffice at Dreamforce 2011, a huge cloud computing and customer service software event happening this week in San Francisco, CA (News - Alert). An announcement in this regard has been made by a provider of cloud-based e-mail archiving, e-mail compliance, e-mail discovery and e-mail continuity solutions, LiveOffice.


A complete view of all e-mail, attachments and Chatter posts associated with an Account, Contact, Lead or Opportunity in Salesforce.com (News - Alert) will be provided by the new app. User intervention, plug-ins or additional storage fees are however not required. For a limited time, the new app will be offered for free

In a release, Nick Mehta, CEO of LiveOffice said, “Traditional Outlook plug-ins create installation and maintenance problems, require additional effort from users and strain Salesforce storage limits. LiveOffice Outlook Email Connector for Salesforce eliminates these barriers—it is configured at the Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange or Lotus Notes server level and displays the complete email, attachment and Chatter history in Salesforce.com without any user intervention.”

Mehta added that a complete pulse on a key account across all users in one place can be obtained by a CEO or VP of sales by using a setup with the right permissions.

Microsoft Outlook is heavily relied upon by many Salesforce.com customers for email and calendars. At the same time other sales- and support-related activities are recorded in Salesforce. Some type of integration between Outlook and Salesforce is required for the users to be able to get a unified view of their accounts and opportunities. Data entry redundancy can be eliminated with this integration. A more complete, 360-degree view of all account touch points in Salesforce is also provided.

All emails, attachments and Chatter posts in the LiveOffice cloud are stored and indexed by the Outlook Email Connector for Salesforce app for free. Expensive storage fees and external plug-ins can be also avoided.
