Robert Wise, vice president of marketing and strategic business development for InterCall (News - Alert), a subsidiary of West Corp., has been selected to serve on the board of directors for the Interactive Multimedia Collaborative Communications Alliance (IMCCA), a non-profit industry association dedicated to strengthening the conferencing and collaboration market.


Founded in 1998, the IMCCA offers impartial information and education about web conferencing and collaboration solutions. The association is open to end users, vendors and other professionals who wish to share their knowledge of such solutions.

In a press release, Carol Zelkin, executive director of IMCCA said Wise’s “commitment to the advancement of collaboration and track record of leadership in this industry will make him a valued board member."

Chicago-based InterCall is conference communications service provider. The company’s advanced audio, event, Web and video conferencing solutions help workers be more productive. As the company's vice president of marketing and strategic business development, Wise oversees marketing communications, products, training and global business development.

"This is an exciting time for our industry,” Wise said in the release. “We are on the brink of a revolution in workplace communications and I look forward to working with the board to help achieve their vision.”

Intercall last made news on TMCnet in January when it announced that it had received 2007 North American Conferencing Company of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan. The award honors companies for their leadership in the industry, business development and competitive strategy.
