NetSuite Offers CRM Customers Lower Price, Better Functionality

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

NetSuite (News - Alert), a vendor of on-demand, integrated business management software suites and customer relationship management solutions for mid-market enterprises and divisions of large companies, announced a new program Wednesday aimed at customers eager to reap greater value from their CRM investment and get relief from high on-demand subscription fees.

The company claimed that Salesforce.com (News - Alert) has one of the industry’s highest cost on-demand subscription, and positioned itself as a an appealing alternative to the small business and the large enterprise at a time when cost-cutting is taking priority.

The NetSuite RenewForce Program offers all Salesforce.com customers the opportunity to drop their standalone sales force automation (SFA) offering from Salesforce.com in exchange for NetSuite CRM+ at special rate. The company guarantees that its cost will be 50 percent off the value of the current Salesforce.com implementation.

NetSuite is making this bold move because it believes customers that switch will find a lot to like about the NetSuite RenewForce offer. Many are seeking opportunities to realize greater value from investments across the operation and NetSuite anticipates its offering will grab attention.

As an on-demand suite with built-in integration and business analytics, NetSuite takes the position that it offers considerably more value than the standalone Salesforce.com SFA application and at substantially less cost.

This program is now available for a limited time only to all current Salesforce.com. The proposed 50 percent discount will apply to a comparable license for NetSuite CRM+, including customer support and implementation services.

"RenewForce ends the age of being forced to pay $125 per-user-per-month for basic contact management and SFA," said Zach Nelson (News - Alert), NetSuite CEO, in a Wednesday statement. "In this environment, reducing costs and increasing productivity are key, and applications like NetSuite CRM+ that include—but go well beyond—basic SFA functionally enable companies to do a lot more with a lot less."

Customers who take advantage of this offer will also receive important customer relationship management functionality not found in Salesforce.com. Such capabilities include the ability to create estimates or quotes; generate sales orders; manage multiple quotas and forecasts; automate support for cross-selling and up-selling; manage incentive management within the system; conduct integrated e-mail marketing; and pre-configure dashboards for business intelligence.

While NetSuite is offering Salesforce.com customers a compelling offer to be able to improve functionality while cutting costs, it is unlikely that Salesforce.com will remain idle and let its customers deflect to a competitor. Watch carefully as we are sure to see a Salesforce.com reaction and promotion match.
