Web site Developer Gproxy Using NetSuite Solutions to Create More Engaging Customer Experience

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

Web site design and ecommerce solutions provider Gproxy Design Inc. announced today that it has completed the development of more than 200 Web sites integrated with NetSuite’s (News - Alert) ecommerce platform.

To accomplish this, Gproxy used the SuiteFlex platform -- an open platform allowing developers to customize applications within NetSuite. SuiteFlex consists of a “suite” of applications including SuiteScript (the standard set of tools used for building custom apps); SuiteTalk (the set of tools for integrating legacy applications); and the new SuiteBundler (a new set of tools which allows even further personalization, configuration and customization of applications and allows all pieces of code used in those customized apps to be re-used for other applications without re-scripting them).

Using this powerful set of developer tools, Gproxy Design has managed to incorporate a range of useful features into each of these Web sites – features which will lead to a more pleasurable and engaging experience for the customers who use them. This, in turn, has led to higher profits for the companies operating them.

Features which were developed for these Web sites include the “Image Browser,” which lets customers get different views of the item they are browsing, as well as the “Product Reviews” feature, which gives customers the opportunity to take into consideration other customers’ reviews and opinions on a product before making a purchase. Another cool feature is the interactive and user-friendly “Online Product Builder,” which lets customers completely design (and then re-design) the product they intend to purchase before actually finalizing the transaction. One huge advantage of the “Product Builder” developed by Gproxy is that it lets customers view the item they are customizing in 3D so they can, for example, see what it looks like in their house before they buy it. Meanwhile the “Compare Feature” lets customers compare multiple items side-by-side without having to annoyingly jump back and forth between pages.

Other applications developed include “Special Access Areas” which allow Web site operators to set price, content and site accessibility levels for different types of customers – for example, “wholesalers,” “professionals” and “retail customers.” Another fascinating functionality delivered by NetSuite is the “Multi-Site” capability, which lets site operators host multiple sites, each with its own “look and feel,” while centralizing and compartmentalizing customer data, site statistics and performance, and other vital stochastic information on the NetSuite back-end.
