CRM Solutions in The Form of A New iPhone Application

Customer relationship management (CRM) company SugarCRM has announced its new native iPhone (News - Alert) application. The company made it available as part of the latest enhancement to Sugar 6.


The iPhone application comes with the Sugar Enterprise edition. Company officials said that it’ll be available for a limited time at no additional charge for users of Sugar Professional edition.

“We are offering Sugar Mobile to new and existing Sugar users to help extend their CRM success into mobile use,” said Bill Harrison, president of Epicom, a SugarCRM (News - Alert) partner, adding that no other mobile CRM tool offers up such an intuitive and seamless experience, coupled with the flexibility and customization capabilities found in Sugar Mobile.

The Sugar Mobile for iPhone application enhances SugarCRM’s existing mobile offerings. Company officials said that the newest offering makes it simpler to find, create and modify customer information such as leads, opportunities and support cases.

Moreover, Sugar Mobile for iPhone is customized using the SugarCRM Mobile Studio administration panel. Company officials said that administrators can create mobile-specific fields, limit which fields are seen in the iPhone application, or create entirely new user screens for use by mobile employees.

Additionally, the new features in Sugar 6 include the general availability of Sugar Logic, a new set of PHP and JavaScript libraries aimed at empowering Sugar developers. Thanks to Sugar Logic, developers can create dynamic processes and views in SugarCRM instances, which are also upgrade safe.

Plus, the newest edition of Sugar 6 also features 13 new languages fully supported by SugarCRM. Company officials said that with these new supported language packs, users need not download, install and manage language translations for SugarCRM. In addition, new social media, collaboration and access features are included in the newest Sugar release.

“Smart phones have become the standard for connecting with your customers at any time, anywhere. Sugar Mobile is the only CRM solution that delivers the ease of use of Sugar 6 on the most commonly used mobile platforms,” said Clint Oram, co-founder and vice president of products at SugarCRM.

Earlier this month, SugarCRM announced that Qontext is SugarExchange certified.
