Afloral.com Revives Wilting IT with NetSuite

Afloral.com had, shall we say, some serious challenges.

The Jamestown, NY-based company sells silk flowers and floral supplies. Up until a few years ago they were using separate systems for Web site and inventory -- Monster Commerce for Web site and e-mail marketing, QuickBooks for ERP and inventory, other third-party software for CRM.


Sound gruesome? Other than taking a whole lot more time and effort than it should have, everything was coming up roses.

Oh, and having no real warehouse numbers too. With such a system Afloral.com had no hope of maximizing existing resources, and precious little control on future purchase. Access to data was limited to one specific team or person -- 'there was no way of customizing who sees what,' an Afloral.com official remembers.

And we suppose you've already guessed that in-house IT operations was a major difficulty, that the cost and management of servers was a big hassle, what with employees having to connect with HQ just to get information.

The company decided to give CRM software provider NetSuite a shot. Couldn't have been a whole lot worse, right?

With NetSuite (News - Alert), company officials say, their accounting, CRM, inventory and Web site all share a single repository of data. That's right -- no more manual uploading and data transfer from one system to another.

When they want real-time inventory data, they get instant numbers of what’s in stock. The movement of products has never been better. And productivity's blossoming with customized roles, reports and dashboards -- 'roles and KPIs are easily managed depending on the company’s needs,' an Afloral.com official said.

Being in the cloud removes the hassle of maintaining hardware, server software and saves space in-house, Afloral officials have concluded, who add they've found increased mobility and flexibility of employees using the new system as well.

'NetSuite’s all-in-one has provided us with efficiencies that have allowed us to successfully grow,” said Sue Bonfiglio, Afloral.com's president.
