Sennheiser Intros PXC 250-II Noise Cancelling Travel Headphones

By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet

Sennheiser has introduced a new model of high-performance travel headphones designed for superior ambient noise reduction.

The new PXC 250-II headphones are the ones you want if you spend a lot of time in planes, trains and automobiles and want a superior music listening experience. Building on the successful PXC 250 travel headphone, the new PXC 250-II offers improved NoiseGard technology to effectively reduce engine noise, rumbling train sounds and other ambient noise.

Sennheiser’s patented NoiseGard technology has been used in pilots’ headsets for years, as it improves concentration and reduces fatigue for pilots on long international flights. Tiny microphones located in the ear cups pick up external sound -- then a built-in processor analyzes it and electronically produces anti-noise. The result is the cancellation of ambient noise.

“All that remains is perfect sound quality and an opportunity to completely relax,” Sennheiser claims in a release.

With their high-performing neodymium magnets, these headphones deliver powerful, detailed sound with a frequency response from 10 to 21,000 Hertz.

The PXC 250-II sports a 4.6-foot cable and includes a volume control in the NoiseGard processor. The headphones require one AAA battery -- however they offer long battery life of up to 50 hours. When not in use, the headphones can be folded and stored flat, making them ideal for travel. The PXC 250-II also comes with its own carrying pouch with enough space to hold a small MP3 player.

Sennheiser sponsors the Headsets community and Contact Center Headsets channel on TMCnet.
