Communications Provider to Intro Local Numbers Service

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

PowerNet Global, an integrated communications provider, announced plans to expand its portfolio with a new service designed to give call centers local presence regardless of their location.

The product, called Anywhere Local, gives call centers local numbers so operators can have a local presence regardless of where they are actually located. Sarah Stiens, marketing manager for PowerNet Global (News - Alert), told TMCnet in an interview that having local presence is an “advantageous” tool for calls centers.

“Those being called are more likely to answer their calls as opposed to when they see an 800 or out-of-area number that they wouldn't answer,' she said.

“We have an abundance of toll-free services available, including our Advanced Toll-Free, which we were first to market within the agent space and provides super routing features not available with other TDM solutions,” Stiens said. “Our Anywhere Local really rounds out our offering since this is also a very new, modern service that isn't available through a lot of providers yet.”

In addition, PowerNet Global also plans to launch its NetDialer service, which allows dialer traffic on its network at a cost savings, company officials said. NetDialer supports call center/dialer traffic on the PNG network. The offering is an addition to the company’s On-Net services - services the company supports on its network.

The services, which are scheduled to rollout in the second quarter, follow the recent launch of PowerNet Global’s Advanced Toll-Free service and expanded date coverage through its partnership with Nitel.

In other news, the communications provider was recently named to the Deloitte (News - Alert) Cincinnati USA 100 listing for the seventh consecutive year. The program recognizes greater Cincinnati's top privately-held businesses for “the tremendous economic and civic contribution they make to their community.”
