Communications Provider Feature: PowerNet Global Intros New SIP Line Service

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

As Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert), or SIP, continues to gain ground as an industry standard, more and more businesses are seeking new options concerning the technology. Though SIP has been around for a few years now, its early offerings to the marketplace left companies with little choice but to accept a pre-package bundle.

Enter PowerNetGlobal Communications, a communications provider and telecommunications industry veteran that’s giving organizations more choices with its new SIP lines service. The á la carte service lets businesses of any size enjoy the feature-rich advancements and savings associated with SIP services, Matt Ziebro, vice president of enterprise sales at PNG told TMCnet in a recent podcast.

“What PNG has launched recently is more of an á la carte, scalable-type solution,” Ziebro said. “So, we can help the 90-site regional bank, or the single office that just needs eight lines of local and long distance service.”

The scalable service lets businesses “pick and choose from the different features and functionality,” he said.

The new SIP Lines service offers local dial tone/voice lines via IP. Since the lines are available individually, the service can be customized to handle any business size, Ziebro said. The flexibility helps businesses save money because they don’t have to pay for more than they need, according to PNG.

PNG can also help companies with their needs by offering additional features because the company owns its own network, Ziebro said.
