Today, multinationals all across the globe are realizing the importance of cloud. Haier in China is no exception as it recently awarded a three-year contract to Orange (News - Alert) Business Services, a Global Network and Managed IT Service Provider.
Under the terms of this contract, Orange Business Services will implement and manage Flexible Computing Premium, which is a cloud computing solution and a part of the company’s IaaS and IT services portfolio.
With the deployment of Flexible Computing Premium, Haier’s headquarters in China can easily connect with its after-sale service center in India over a cloud-based platform.
Officials said that this enables users to access business-critical applications anywhere, anytime.
Flexible Computing Premium is based on a modular industrialized catalog of cloud infrastructure and software management services. It meets stringent security, performance and availability requirements.
The solution is considered to be an ideal fit for business-critical applications running on Haier’s network.
Utilizing Flexible Computing Premium, Haier’s infrastructure is built “a la carte” and can be modified quickly and easily to cater to the changing business needs.
IaaS enables Haier to expand internationally in an agile way, easily adding or removing infrastructure as the company evolves.
Furthermore, with the help of the cloud-based solution, Haier can realize significant cost savings from a pay-per-use cost model, which can ultimately result in the transformation of CAPEX into predictable operational costs.
In a press statement, Patrick Li, General Manager-China, Orange Business Services (News - Alert), said: “We are delighted to support Haier, one of the world’s most innovative companies, with our industry-leading cloud solution and our expertise as a global IT services provider. This win is a milestone for us in China, and a testament to Orange Business Services’ ability to provide large Chinese enterprises with innovative communications solutions to support their expansion in India.”
Recently, TMCnet reported that Accenture (News - Alert) and Orange Business Services have formed an alliance to support large enterprises with their cloud strategy and the transformation of their infrastructure and applications to cloud-based models.
