In the cloud telephony space, fonYou’s Facebook Number is designed specifically for social networking activities. This
platform provides customers with a second mobile phone number on their existing phone and SIM card. It will also provide them with access to a new range of advanced, cloud-based services, including advanced filtering, visual voicemail, real-time call register and blocking functions for those incoming calls people just don’t want.
Facebook Number exists to enable cloud telephony provides to extend a mobile number to end customers that they can use for interacting with other
people on Facebook. This is an additional number, which enables service provides to access simple-to-configure blocking and filtering functions. Customers can also share it with their Facebook contacts without worrying about privacy implications.

As telcos continue to battle against new, aggressive over-the-top competitors, the ability to offer cloud telephone services through Facebook, with profile integration, is a significant competitive advantage. “You have to be where your customers are”, said fonYou’s CEO Fernando Núñez-Mendoza, in a statement. “And, apart from a few specific countries, Facebook is where people spend a significant amount of their time.”
