Savvis To Provide Enterprise Cloud Managed Dual Hosting For Singapore Exchange

Savvis, provider of cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions, recently announced that it will extend dual-site hosting capabilities to financial services clients through an arrangement with Singapore Exchange (SGX). The arrangement will provide both Savvis and SGX Clients with Enterprise-Class IT infrastructure solutions and low-latency connectivity access.

Savvis, a CenturyLink company (CTL) (NYSE: CTL), is a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprises. With over 2,000 unique clients,  more than 30 are from the top 100 companies in the Fortune 500. These clients use Savvis to improve their service levels, reduce capital expense and harness the latest advances in cloud computing.

CenturyLink (CTL) is the third largest telecom company in the U.S., and serves as a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprise customers. CenturyLink provides data, voice and managed services in local, national and select international markets through its high-quality advanced fiber optic network and multiple data centers for businesses and consumers.

Utilizing the Savvis and SGX data centers, the arrangement would assist financial services clients with a single point of contact for a suite of Singapore-based IT infrastructure solutions that includes managed hosting, Colocation and network services, and low latency connectivity to market services.

Both sites have also successfully undergone third-party threat and vulnerability risk assessments, that ensures the Savvis-SGX dual-site arrangement meet the necessary security requirements as stipulated by financial institutions.

Mark Smith, managing director for Savvis Asia, said that the strategic arrangement with SGX reaffirms Savvis' leadership in financial services as well as their commitment to expanding their presence in Singapore. He added that they were together looking forward to providing Singapore's financial market participants with secure, reliable enterprise-class solutions.

Tinku Gupta, head of market data and access at SGX, also said that they were delighted to work closely with Savvis in promoting their ultra-low latency Colocation services and to offer dual-site hosting to financial institutions, which is ideal for the business continuity.

The joint arrangement will offer financial clients the facility to utilize Savvis as a service provider for low latency Colocation services in the SGX Data Center. This will be in addition to the dual-site general hosting and network services. This initiative ultimately enables customers to house their technology in two Singapore data centers, each connected to leading global exchanges and financial institutions.
