Everything Channel’s CRN Magazine has named cloud computing solutions provider NaviSite one of the 100 Top Cloud Computing Vendors, according to a company statement.

The list of the top 100 vendors, published in CRN, names cloud vendors and solutions that are particularly innovative.

“This year’s Top Cloud Computing Vendors award is based on a cloud vendor’s approach to creating an innovative product, or an innovative approach to supporting solution providers in the IT channel,” Kelley Damore, vice president and editorial director at CRN, explains in a company press release. “Specifically, these cloud vendors help resellers transform themselves into true service providers and help organizations and enterprises take advantage of the ease, flexibility, scalability, elasticity and cost savings that leveraging cloud computing has to offer.”

NaviSite provides cloud-enabled, enterprise hosting, managed apps and services, the company said in a statement.

NaviSite (News - Alert) also offers options for organizations wanting to outsource IT infrastructure and decrease their capital and operating costs, the company said.

Brooks Borcherding, president and CEO of NaviSite, said in the press release. “NaviSite continues to be recognized in an increasingly competitive market for our innovative, industry-defining enterprise cloud solutions.”

In other NaviSite news, TMCnet reports that cloud computing continues to gain momentum.

However, TMCnet’s Susan J. Campbell said that some enterprises and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are “leery about what should be moved to the cloud, whether or not it will be secure, and how best to make that move.”

Claudine Bianchi, CMO, NaviSite, told TMCnet that industry analysts predict some $100 billion worth of opportunities in the cloud marketplace.

In addition, several enterprises want test environments to predict what it may look like in their own environment when they are in the cloud, TMCnet said.
