CSC to Sponsor "Global Vision Series 2010"

Headquartered in Falls Church, Va., CSC is one of the nation’s major employers with approximately 95,000 employees. The company operates through three main lines of businesses: Business Solutions and Services, the Managed Services Sector, and the North American Public Sector. The industry leader recently announced the hosting of a series of events focusing on the transformation of IT.
Termed, “Global Vision Series 2010”, the event will address how Cloud Computing enables businesses to become “Future Ready.” CSC announced that the events are going to be held in Washington D.C., Detroit, Houston, Boston and London. The events are designed to engage IT business leaders in a discussion about leveraging the cloud to transform business processes and drive greater agility, innovation, and cost-efficiency. The aim of the events is to generate debates and discussions on how cloud computing is changing the IT services in applications, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Cloud is creating a borderless world. Security is the utmost concern in the changing IT landscape, where cloud is destined to play a big role. The IT companies should emphasize on the security aspect, so that the enterprises are confident of the security aspect. The enterprise must be ready to adopt new approaches to accomplish this, CSC pointed out. The company suggested the following approaches:
- Optimize around the business
- Workloads and processes
- Support contemporary workstyles
- Accelerate change
- Reduce capital expenditure
- Consider the total cost of IT operations rather than unit costs of components
CSC executives, as well as industry applications experts from outside the company, will be speaking at each event. The notable speakers include:
- Nick Wilkinson, president, Market and Product Strategy: Setting the challenge that the market faces and how CSC is addressing it
- John Zeberlein, director, Cloud Computing, Public Sector: Developments in cloud technologies and how they can be leveraged to support refactored applications
- Andy Purdy, chief strategist, Cybersecurity: Making the total IT environment secure
