When it comes to staffing a call center in a way that will allow it to stand out from the rest, there are a number of different angles to try. Some call centers have started only hiring a certain kind of person like disabled veterans. Other call centers are setting up shop in areas that don’t see a whole lot of business from one day to the next. Still others are looking to be able to communicate with as many people as possible. It’s this third choice that a new call center that The Results Companies (News - Alert) is choosing.
The company has announced that it is looking for employees to stock its new 1,500 square-meter facility in Costa Rica. The center will house about 500 workers when it is fully staffed. The thing that the company hopes will help it stand out from other centers located in Latin America is that it wants its staff to be truly bilingual. By hiring only people who are able to speak several languages fluently, there’s a better chance to help all the people who are looking for help from the call center rather than just a select group.
Having the ability to speak Spanish and English is just part of what the company is looking at when it comes to making a hiring decision. The Results Companies announced that they are only looking for people who are able to handle a multitude of different task who have also worked at call centers before.
That means that the Costa Rican call center is not necessarily going to be a starting point for someone who wants to get into the business. This is more the place to go when you are looking for a slightly more rewarding job in the call center market. This call center is just the latest in a large group of businesses that are moving to the Latin American country. The government is taking notice, commenting that the services sector is, “showing a significant evolution, increasingly offering services of greater sophistication and complexity, largely thanks to the preparation and qualification of Costa Rican human resources.”
