9th Voice Biometrics Conference to Convene in California in the Spring
The 9th Voice Biometrics Conference (VBC) will be held in San Francisco, Calif. from May 8-9, 2013, according to Opus Research, a provider of automated speech processing technologies, contact center automation, enterprise collaboration and mobile commerce.
VBC provides a platform for executives from major banks, telephone companies, insurance carriers, contact centers and healthcare providers to share the experience and lessons learned from deploying voice biometric-based solutions in their communications and security fabrics.
Past VBC events have seen participation from solution providers, integrators, implementers and executives investigating their options for strong, simple authentication.
“Discussions and presentations at Voice Biometrics Conference-Singapore were both thought-provoking and pragmatic,” said Dan Miller (News - Alert), senior analyst at Opus Research and conference chair, in a statement. “The efficiency of core voice biometric technology was a given. Now people are looking for practical advice to prepare their IT infrastructures and organizations for the transition to voice-based authentication technologies and workflows.”
VBC 2013-San Francisco will discuss topics including: replacing passwords, fraud profiles, securing personal virtual assistants, accuracy, multi-factor authentication (MFA (News - Alert)), use cases and real world experience, passive enrollment and authentication, embedding voice biometrics into consumer and mobile devices, learning from law enforcement, self-service scenarios, compliance and more.
The event is sponsored by Nuance (News - Alert), NICE Systems, SpeechPro, Agnitio, Sensory and Victrio, targeting customer care specialists who are responsible for fraud reduction in commercial banks, credit unions, financial services, insurance, healthcare, telecom, retail, travel or government services.
It also is deal for chief security officers (CSOs) and chief information security officers (CISOs) grappling with the challenges of securing the phone channel, mobile commerce or remote endpoints in the era of bring your own device (BYOD).
