While most organizations realize that poor customer service can be expensive, they do not follow stringent hiring standards while recruiting customer service executives. By measuring individual’s capabilities at recruitment, businesses can create a difference in the way they serve their customers.
Hogan Assessment Systems, a provider of personality assessment and consulting services, finds that personality assessment can bring significant improvement in entry-level hiring and performance.
The Advantage Report Outcome Highlights, a collection of case studies released from Hogan, proves that personality assessment improves hiring and, consequently, customer service in high-turnover positions.
The Hogan Advantage Report, which is based on components of Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI (News - Alert)), provides an efficient way to screen applicants into entry-level positions. Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), according to company officials, is the industry standard for measuring "bright side" personality characteristics and predicting job performance for working adults.
The report evaluates applicants along three competencies necessary for success: dependability, composure and customer focus. The case studies in the report reveal that individuals who score high on these three competencies are generally more successful in their jobs.
"The key to success in most entry-level positions is the ability to handle stress and pressure, maintain friendly interactions with customers, and follow through on tasks," said Jeff Foster (News - Alert), director of research and development, Hogan, in a statement. "The Hogan Advantage Report is a fast, inexpensive way to identify these characteristics in job applicants."
