In February 2009, national telecommunications company TELUS, announced it would open a new Las Vegas, Nevada contact center this month.
This is exciting news amidst the tough economic climate that has forced many companies to downsize or close-up-shop all together.
Initially, TELUS (News - Alert) said it will open with 100 call center agents in March with s to hire an additional 500 employees by the end of 2009. Eventually, the company's Las Vegas employment numbers could total more than 1,000.
In addition to providing customer care and support for TELUS's fast-growing TELUS International division, the new facility will also enable them to add Spanish language support to its operations and business process outsourcing services.
To help design and furnish the new call center location, TELUS chose Spring Lake, MI-based Interior Concepts over several other large furniture manufacturers.
Interior Concepts provides high quality call center furniture solutions to customers that need to use space efficiently.
With hopes of housing up to 1,000 employees in the new facility, TELUS needed a furniture set-up that could comfortably accommodate the staff and promote productivity.
The company said it specifically selected Interior Concepts call center furniture over several other large furniture manufacturers because of their expertise in call centers and their thin-line panel system, which will make it possible to fit the needed amount of employees into their Las Vegas facility.
Interior Concepts call center furniture panel system allows for more fluidity within workspaces because it takes up less room and works around existing architecture. The result is additional usable space in any given area that comfortably fits more people.
