With the explosion of smart phones and the need to work collaboratively, the 21st century workforce has gone mobile, and a growing number of organizations are keen on remodeling their existing office interiors to make them 21^st century- ready.

A crucial part of the remodeling effort involves investing in new age office furniture that can allow staff to more freely collaborate with each other. A series of new deals and partnerships shows that the office furniture industry is keen on capitalizing on the trend. Not only are vendors constantly coming up with innovative new products designed to suit new age office environments, they are making better investments, forging new partnerships to improve turnaround time,  and are delivering better customer services.

Wilsonart is a good case in point. In an effort to reduce delivery time, this Texan manufacturer and distributor of engineered surfaces has hooked up with third-party logistics provider Supply Chain Solutions.

Wilsonart’s High Pressure Laminates and other engineered surfaces are used for furniture, office and retail space, countertops, worktops and other applications. The company’s two US manufacturing facilities are located in North Carolina and Texas. The partnership with logistics and technology solutions provider Supply Chain Solutions will allow the company to reduce the manufacturing time and have more products ready for faster delivery.

The agreement, signed in mid-December 2013, will enable the laminate-manufacturer to meet the increased service demands of its office furniture accounts in Western Michigan.

“Our office furniture customers are continually seeking improved service and shorter lead times. By joining forces with Supply Chain Solutions, most Wilsonart Laminates and Adhesives will be positioned to meet customer orders in 24 hours, dramatically improving lead times,” Wilsonart OEM Sales Director Richard Wylie said in a statement.

 “This is a perfect fit for our Holland operation and we are excited to help meet the demands of Wilsonart’s customers,” Director of Business Development at Supply Chain Solutions Jennifer Duff added.
