Avotus Corporation, which provides usage management (modern equivalent of call accounting) solutions, announced Monday that its president and CEO, Fred Lizza, will now be serving as treasurer for the Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA).
TEMIA was founded earlier this year by a group of telecom expense management (TEM) firms; Avotus was among the charter members. The not-for profit organization, run by a volunteer board, works to educate the telecom industry about the benefits of TEM solutions, and to develop industry standards that augment service quality.
Together, the companies that make up TEMIA are estimated to control more than $20 billion in domestic and international expenses associated with various types of communications—including voice, data and wireless.
“The continued proliferation and complexity of new telecom technologies is making it very difficult for companies to understand, predict and control their telecom expenses using traditional manual methods,” said Lizza, in a statement.
Lizza continued: “The primary goal of TEMIA is to promote the value of TEM as an indispensable management solution to help corporations to manage their telecom spending. I am very pleased to serve as Treasurer, and look forward to helping build the organization and educating the marketplace on the value of TEM.”
Avotus is a pioneer in automated telecom expense management solutions, having served the industry for 20 years. Today, its ICM eProcurement Expense Management and Usage Management solutions are bringing call accounting into the 21st century through a complete lifecycle management approach.
