Since it was founded in 1972, Mitel (News - Alert) has been providing communication solutions to address the needs of businesses. The company now powers more than 2 billion business connections and 2 billion mobile subscribers every day. Mitel has been evolving by continuously innovating communication solutions, beginning with analog systems to a global leader in real-time business, cloud and mobile communications in today's highly complex digital environment. This includes UC, which led Gartner (News - Alert) to name Mitel in its Leader position in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications.
Organizations of all sizes are deploying UC because it brings a single platform in which they can use audio and video conferencing, voice communications and more in a single or multiple locations. It streamlines communications systems and introduces collaborative tools to bring employees, customers and vendors together seamlessly.
"Today’s large enterprises recognize seamless, real-time communications and collaboration as catalysts for enhancing employee productivity and providing greater business agility. Whether on-premises, in the cloud, mobile or by integrating multiple environments and applications, Mitel can help businesses of all sizes communicate simply and more effectively," said Rich McBee (News - Alert), CEO, Mitel.
The Mitel cloud capability gives organizations the flexibility and scalability to grow without having to worry about the capital expenditure of on premises hardware installations. The MiVoice MX-ONE is one of the many platforms that enables comprehensive integration of true multimedia, Unified Communications (News - Alert) & Collaboration (UCC) applications and mobility in the enterprise.
As a full-featured communications server, MiVoice MX-ONE is able to bring together voice, video and IM with mobility in a distributed architecture so can be deployed with or without dedicated media gateway hardware. The flexibility of the platform allows organizations to deploy it in a centralized or distributed fashion and as a single logical or networked systems across hundreds of locations with the scalability to go from 100 to 500,000 users.
MiVoice MX-ONE currently has an installed base of more than 60,000 customers in over 120 countries across many different verticals, including health care, education, manufacturing, emergency services, finance, insurance, tourism, and others.
The growth of the UC market is slowing down because of the maturation of the technology, which makes it that much harder for organizations like Mitel to continue acquiring new customers. However the company has been making gains with key acquisitions and integrating new technologies in its UC platform.
This position as a Leader in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications makes it the third time in which Mitel has been recognized. The two previous ones were in May of 2016 for Midsize Enterprises, and October 2015 for Corporate Telephony.
