ISI Telemanagement Solutions (News - Alert) has announced the release of its Infortel Select Traffic Analysis service.
“The difficulty organizations face when trying to do a traffic assessment is that they are often dealing with multiple carriers and multiple platforms, but not seeing the overall picture,” said Dan Mueller, VP of Infortel Select Products. “With this new service, we are offering a consolidated view of all these variables to produce an enterprise-wide voice network assessment.”
One of the difficulties for companies wanting to switch to VoIP is determining how much bandwidth they actually need. Too little, and they’ll suffer major performance problems. Too much and they’re wasting money.
By offering Infortel as a consultative service, businesses can look at the actual traffic patterns on their networks and determine exactly the bandwidth they actually use. Decision makers will be able to see both the trunk capacity and traffic metrics at a glance.
Infortel Select Traffic Analysis will join a whole portfolio of services that ISI offers, including call recording, instant message recording, invoice and inventory management and wireless management.
Businesses can use the technology to make a case for a VoIP installation, determine peak concurrent calls and figure out how much bandwidth is needed for tail-end hop-off. They can also estimate how much they’d save by moving off of PSTN systems to VoIP. It can also identify peak hours and show the number of lines required to keep a certain level of service.
The system is available as a cloud-based service, without any extra hardware or software, and can be purchased on a short-term basis. Reports can be generated in as little as month, though longer term data collection will give an even better picture of a company’s data usage. ISI will configure the solution themselves and identify the exact reports that a client will require.
