When it comes to enterprise-level businesses, PBX (News - Alert) systems are becoming an ever more popular form of maintaining telephony systems. Despite the fact that business VoIP systems are getting more popular all the time, there are some companies that still need to be reminded of the benefits of using on-premises PBX systems. There are plenty of reasons out there why a company could benefit from these services.
The long-term cost of these kinds of services is the No. 1 reason why a company should strongly consider using the on-premises service. Micheal Bremmer, CEO of TelecomQuotes, recently talked about the cost that can be saved over the long run. Bremmer mentioned that a good system can last as long as 10 years, because there is no monthly fee when a company goes with on-premises PBX systems. When working in the cloud or with other PBX systems, those fees can be quite a bit more expensive.
The second-best reason to use an on-premises PBX system is that it more closely resembles what employees are already used to in their day to day operations. The older phones can still be used for these operations. A company can also spend quite a bit of money training people how to use services that operate in the cloud. With PBX systems that are actually located at the business, there isn’t a ton of new learning that needs to go on.
Another big reason for sticking with on-premises PBX is the security problems that come along with working over the Internet. While there are plenty of companies that are always working on new security solutions for VoIP and the cloud, there are still plenty of weaknesses to be exploited. When you are talking about on-premises PBX systems you are talking about a much more secure solution for your business.
