ERP vendor NetSuite (News - Alert) has announced a strategic partnership with Sunway E-Systems, a Southeast Asian integrator of technology-enabled business transformation, and a subsidiary of the Sunway Group.

The partnership "gives SES the exclusive rights to distribute, resell, implement and support NetSuite's cloud computing business management suites in Malaysia," according to NetSuite officials.

According to a recent Gartner (News - Alert) survey, emerging Asia Pacific markets are primed to adopt the sort of cloud computing offerings NetSuite specializes in. "In Malaysia, CRM and supply chain management were the next most popular applications for SaaS (News - Alert) after ERP," the Gartner report wrote, adding that in China, 50 percent of respondents indicated "they had been using SaaS for more than four years, while in Malaysia, this figure exceeded 76 percent."

In addition, a recent research report from Springboard Research indicates that Asia Pacific organizations will spend close to $2.3 billion on cloud computing by 2012, a growth rate of 46 percent.

Earlier this month TMC's (News - Alert) Susan J. Campbell reported that NetSuite and cloud subscription billing products provider Zuora have announced a new partnership "under which they will develop and offer combined offerings for companies seeking to meter, price and bill for subscription and usage-based products."

Zuora (News - Alert) "already acts as the preferred partner for NetSuite for subscription and usage-based businesses," Campbell wrote.

Partnering with busines software provider NetSuite gives SES "an immediate presence in the rapidly expanding cloud computing industry," SES officials say, as well as a line-up of cloud business management offerings, including NetSuite's core integrated suite that combines ERP / Financials, customer relationship management and Ecommerce software."

It also includes NetSuite OneWorld, a cloud computing tool which enables multinational and multi-subsidiary companies "manage their global financial consolidation and business operations in real time," company officials say.

"Sunway is a major market force in Malaysia led by its industry experience, access to the highest levels of commerce and government, and proven expertise in business transformation," said Chris Schafer, NetSuite's Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, adding that the Sunway Group "has embraced cloud computing as the way of the future. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership."
