Office process automation can make the lives of any businesses' employees much less stressful. From the small business to the global enterprise, tasks can become overwhelming, so the more processes that can become automatic the more efficient overall operations can become. For those businesses on the global end of the spectrum, however, automation is often less of a choice and more of a necessity if they want to remain competitive within their markets.

One firm that provides software, which can handle many back office processes, ReadSoft, recently announced its latest contract: an agreement with a law firm in the U.K. worth more than $400,000 (about £250,000). ReadSoft did not disclose the name of the law firm; it only stated that it would deploy its SAP (News - Alert)-certified Process Director Accounts Payable software that will handle the firm's collation, tracking, and processing of the vast volume of numerous documents it receives each day.

Simon Shorthose, managing director of ReadSoft U.K., stated that this contract with the global law firm reaffirms ReadSoft's position as a global provider of process automation tools.

“This win demonstrates the continued recognition of ReadSoft as a global leader in process automation within the SAP environment,” Shorthose said. “This law firm has put in place the strongest possible set of tools to support efficient business growth globally.”

He continued by saying that Process Director Accounts Payable will provide law firm associates with increased control over business operations through better visibility of important information. In turn, he said, the increased control and visibility should translate into a better experience for the law firm's customers.

ReadSoft has tailored Process Director to meet the specific needs of its client. This includes a pre-defined set of logic rules that govern the handling of documents and document requests. TMC (News - Alert) announced earlier this year that SAP had certified Process Director as cleared to work with the SAP HANA platform wherein the application uses main memory, rather than a hard drive, to perform operations more quickly. ReadSoft did not indicate that the law firm would specifically seek operations with SAP HANA. Still, Process Director is able to work within SAP infrastructure to enable use of shared data between programs and provide newcomers to Process Director with the familiar look of the SAP environment.
