To the players in the global transport industry, McLeod Software is a familiar name. The company’s business automation solutions are designed to help the carriers and logistics companies increase their efficiencies and reduce costs. The company’s advanced management solutions are a special hit with the trucking industry. The increasing popularity of its products among the transport companies has seemingly encouraged the company to invest in the upgrading and expansion of its product offering. Recently it rolled out three new products to join its impressive offering of transportation dispatch, accounting, operations and brokerage management software, and document management systems.
The three new products -- LoadMaster, PowerBroker, and LoadMaster LTL version 12.1 -- are designed to take business automation to an all new level in the areas of pricing and bid management, billing operations and LTL brokering for its customers, company reps said in a news statement.
In an effort to help its customers deal with the stream of shipper bids, the company has added a new Pricing and Bid Management Module to its Load Master software. This module eases the work burden involving request for proposal (RFP) documents. In addition to working as a workbench tool, this module also enables customers to import RFP data from a variety of formats into their LoadMaster or PowerBroker systems and track lane awards and rates within the system.
A Dedicated Billing Operations Module is designed to simplify the process of creating customized invoices for dedicated fleet customers. Optional and highly configurable, this module can accommodate the requirements most commonly found in dedicated customer contracts. In addition, the new module also supports configurable gain sharing and revenue split calculations for a dedicated customer’s fleet for outside backhaul opportunities.
Last but not least, the PowerBroker LTL module has been designed to add a set of LTL brokerage capabilities into the system. PowerBroker LTL includes the ability to give customers LTL rating, quotes, and ordering through the system. These capabilities are made available to the customer through the customer Internet portal.
The version 12.1 release comes complete with mapping capabilities powered by Google (News - Alert) Maps and ALK traffic and objection management capabilities. This function allows for the creation of scripts to help sales people effectively deal with the most common customer objections encountered during telemarketing calls.
Expanding customers’ choice for automating all of their payroll tax calculations, both the office payroll and driver settlement functions have been enhanced. It now allows for the use of third-party tax calculation engines, making it possible for the customers to perform their tax calculation on a location-by-location or state-by-state basis, without having to configure or maintain that complex information in your system.
