To cut down the administrative time in processing traffic fines and filings accident reports, Colombia's Bogota Police Department will equip 400 traffic officers with Anoto Live digital writing solutions. This new solution automates time-consuming administrative tasks associated with traffic tickets and accident reports. The system to be used by the traffic administration (Secretaria de Movilidad de Bogota) will be deployed by Anoto's platinum partner Habitual Data.

Earlier, police officers used to fill in the traffic fines with regular pens and paper forms and later the ticket information was entered into the local government's computer system; it took several days to send fines and accident reports. Anoto digital, writing in combination with mobile phones, allow officers to send fines and accident reports directly to the computer system for immediate processing, effectively and significantly reducing the processing time.

Albeiro Montoya, CEO of Habitual Data in Colombia said in a statement, "The Bogota Police Department required a turn-key solution that would allow it to dramatically reduce administrative tasks related to traffic fines and accident reports. The digital pen technology, together with our platform will allow Bogota Police to cut down administrative time from days to seconds."

The writing solution is also used by 4,000 frontline police officers at the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to reduce administrative tasks when recording witness statements, marking the deployment a further proof point of Anoto technology as an effective data-capture solution for the law enforcement industry.
