Urban Partnership Bank Announces Implementation of upbAnywhere

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Urban Partnership Bank, an FDIC-insured, full-service, community development bank with $1 billion in assets, has introduced upbAnywhere, the new virtual banking platform from Q2.

Q2 (previously Q2ebanking) is a provider of enterprise solutions for secure virtual banking.

Thanks to the Q2platform, Urban Partnership Bank account holders can now securely access their bank accounts and manage money whenever and wherever they want using a computer, tablet or mobile phone.

“It’s a whole new world in retail banking,” said Brian K. Jones, director of virtual banking products and services at Urban Partnership Bank, in a statement.

Jones said that account holders increasingly want the option to bank on their terms, without having to make a trip to a physical location.

“By partnering with Q2 on the implementation of upbAnywhere, we are delivering a state-of-the-art virtual banking alternative that we believe will appeal to these customers,” he said.

Q2’s technology helps Urban Partnership Bank to deliver on its promise of providing convenient, round-the-clock banking for the underserved and under-banked populations of Chicago and Detroit, including members of the Millennial Generation.

“The continued adoption of mobile technology and capabilities in financial services has tremendous appeal, particularly to younger adults,” said Greg McBride, a senior financial analyst with Bankrate (News - Alert).com in North Palm Beach.

McBride said that mobile and online are the preferred channels through which millennials prefer to bank, so functionality in this area is key to reaching that market segment.

Q2 helped Urban Partnership Bank implement a virtual banking platform with a host of customer-centric features including anytime, anywhere access. Account holders never have to worry about bank hours or bank locations. With upbAnywhere at www.upbnk.com, the new virtual banking platform from Q2, they can manually pay bills online or set up automatic bill payments for even greater convenience.

Moreover, account holders can easily check balances, view recent transactions and transfer funds between accounts using a computer or mobile device. Plus, with a few clicks, transferring funds between banks is easier than ever.

With upbAnywhere, Urban Partnership Bank account holders have instant access to mobile banking in addition to online banking.

“Urban Partnership Bank has an amazingly acute understanding of their account holders and their preferences. They came to us eager to implement a unified online and mobile experience that would allow them to engage with customers on a whole new level,” said Matt Flake, CEO and president of Q2.

Flake said that Urban Partnership account holders are no longer constrained by bankers’ hours or limited by access to a brick and mortar establishment.

He said that it’s a pleasure to help a progressive bank provide a branded offering that delivers a customer experience that is consistent and secure across all digital channels.
