ODIN Technologies launched a new RFID-enabled process automation system for inventory items. The new Check It solution enhances asset visibility and control by automatically capturing information on all RFID-tagged assets.
Patrick O’Bright, COO of ODIN Technologies said, “The Check It solution expands our product offerings based on our proprietary Intelligent Asset Management (IAM) software platform. Check It is an excellent solution that enables our customers to manage and control critical assets by providing visibility into when, where and to whom assets have been checked.”
This process of monitoring allows associating items to the person responsible as it moves in and out of storage. Asset managers will receive real-time visibility into equipment location and status.
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information.
Check It is a fully customizable system that provides reporting tools which are useful in analysis of asset usage. The automated audit trail for critical assets also integrates with existing IT platforms and infrastructure - improving visibility and control of critical assets like tools, test equipment and weapons.
According to ODIN officials, the new solution maintains inventory accuracy and automates the check-in and check-out process.
Back in June, Affigent and ODIN entered into a strategic partnership to provide federal defense and civilian organizations a more intelligent, responsive and scalable way to protect their property, assets and staff. The offering consolidated any agency’s disparate asset visibility and access control systems on a secure, centralized platform. The cost effective centralized system made it possible for security personnel to monitor, respond, recover and prevent security breaches quickly and decisively.
