AutoTrader Boosts Business Efficiency with MicroStrategy's Mobile App

AutoTrader.com announced that it has started to use the Strategic Account Management Process (AMP) app from MicroStrategy (News - Alert) Incorporated. Since then, AutoTrader.com has improved the business efficiency of its sales force with the implementation of the MicroStrategy-enabled iPad application.


In a statement, James Tom, senior director, Sales Strategy, AutoTrader.com, said, "Our MicroStrategy Mobile app is a game changer for our business. With MicroStrategy, AutoTrader.com executives have the ability to tap their iPad devices and track the performance of the company's top producers instantly, and by glancing at up-to-date sales information, our sales force can engage in meaningful conversations with member auto dealers."

Sales force at AutoTrader.com is now provided with a speedy, mobile access to sales reports by the MicroStrategy AMP application. The sales team can access latest reports instantaneously through their iPad devices. An Autotrader.com advertising consultant can now gain insights regarding sales efficacy. With access to the entire data of a client, the advertising consultant will be able to connect with an auto dealer for its advertising efforts. The consultant will also be able to access important information in order to offer solutions during one-on-one meetings. 

Scott Salter, senior director, Enterprise Data and Shared Services, AutoTrader.com, said, "We turned to MicroStrategy to empower our sales force with the leading mobile solution in the market. We had a pilot application up and running within six weeks and then released AMP to the entire field within three months. We have received positive feedback from a broad user community regarding their ability to access reports at any time, regardless of where they are in the field. Since deploying the MicroStrategy-enabled iPad application, customer usage by dealers and the sales force has grown 40 times: from 4,500 requests weekly, to 175,000 requests weekly. We believe this spike in AMP's usage is indicative of its success, and MicroStrategy plays a big part in this."

According to Hugh Owen, vice president for Mobile Intelligence at MicroStrategy, customers of MicroStrategy are implementing vital mobile apps in order to access live information and also raise employee efficiency. Mobile employees at organizations like AutoTrader.com can access the most recent business information at any time, irrespective of the place, and make important decisions via their tablets and smartphones.
