Descartes Systems Group recently confirmed that it has entered into a SuiteCloud Developer Network agreement with NetSuite (News - Alert). Descartes Systems Group is a premier leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, and NetSuite is a well known provider of cloud-based financials and ERP software suites. This announcement was made at SuiteWorld 2013, which is NetSuite's annual user conference taking place in San Jose, Calif.

NetSuite's SuiteCloud is a robust offering of cloud-based products, development tools and services that have been specially designed to enable both customers and commercial software developers leverage all the significant economic benefits of cloud computing.

In a release, Edward Ryan, chief commercial officer at Descartes (News - Alert), said, "Our Logistics Technology Platform fuses the world's most extensive multi-modal logistics network, the Global Logistics Network (GLN), with the industry's broadest array of modular and mobile, logistics management solutions. By working with NetSuite as part of our United by Design Partner Program, our customers can benefit from an extended ERP footprint. In turn, NetSuite customers can access advanced logistics solutions, including route planning and transportation management, helping them increase revenue, reduce costs and improve their customer service."

One of the key reasons for the integration of NetSuite's SuiteCloud and Descartes' Logistics Technology Platform is to help customers to be able to more effectively interact with their trading partners and carriers, as well as to improve their productivity and overall performance of their operations.
