Cloud security application provider Brivo Systems is integrating its ACS (News - Alert) WebServices software with Asure Software’s workplace management and scheduling software, one of the latest examples of how security and other admin services are coming to the fore as the next wave of so-called SaaSification.
The integrated software is designed to provide a “seamless, passive” process for users checking into workspaces by swiping their Brivo security card to access the corresponding building, allowing for more accurate workspace utilization data that can be collected without additional action by the employee, according to John T. Anderson, executive vice president at Asure Software.
“The integration between Brivo’s ACS WebService and Resource Scheduler addresses the market’s demand for comprehensive, cloud-based shared workspace management solutions,” Anderson said in a company statement. “In addition to enhancing the efficiency of each employee by simultaneously providing secure building access and simple workspace reservation check-in, the resulting workspace utilization data enables organizations to optimize the efficient utilization of space, adjust to changing operations, and ultimately reduce real estate, energy and other operational costs.”
Previously, Brivo and Asure were each offering their cloud-based services to a major software company when the customer inquired if the two companies could integrate for even greater efficiencies and cost savings, Anderson said.
In addition to enhancing security and efficiency, the workspace utilization data can be leveraged by senior management to compare actual versus planned space utilization, identify employee workspace preferences, discover patterns in departments, and other trending information that can lead to workspace modifications and enhancements.
Brivo Executive Vice President John Szczygiel said that while the company’s cloud-based access control system has already offered a variety of benefits for end users, integrating their software with Asure offers users a more efficient solution.
He added, “From Brivo’s founding, we knew our cloud-based access control system offered our end users an exceptional array of features and benefits, but we also knew we couldn’t do it all. Brivo software is designed for easy integration with such market leaders as Asure Software, so that together we can offer our customers a software package that is far more powerful than the two standalone solutions. With this cloud-to-cloud solution, Asure and Brivo are providing end users, for the first time, more efficient and actionable data that allows them to make better decisions.”
