The market for Ethernet Access Devices is growing. The growth in this sector is due to increasing demand of broadband and mobile applications by people.
In the latest research, Infonetics Research (News - Alert) has recognized Actelis, the broadband acceleration company as global supplier of Ethernet over bonded-copper Ethernet Access Devices (EADs). This is the fourth year when Actelis (News - Alert) has been recognized by Infonetics as the global market leader for Ethernet over bonded-copper products.
According to a press release, Infonetics Research found that the Ethernet access device market grew 17 percent in 2011 over 2010 and forecasts growth of 81 percent between 2012 and 2016.
Michael Howard (News - Alert), Infonetics' co-founder and principal analyst stated that Actelis continues to lead the market in this segment, maintaining a clear separation from the other manufacturers, in his latest EADs market size, market share and forecast report.
"Actelis continues to lead the fast-growing EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) bonded-copper EAD segment," said Howard. "Copper has an important role for Ethernet services because, while some operators are moving to fiber as they upgrade building sites and mobile backhaul from TDM to Ethernet, copper-based EFM solutions fit in many business places where the expense of fiber is not justified."
Actelis Network has offered broadband solutions for telecom service providers and enterprises. Serving more than 350 customers, Acteli’s ML 640, and ML 640 EAD delivers high-speed Ethernet services over existing copper networks and it helps the clients to address DSLAM and mobile backhaul challenges.
Vivek Ragavan, president and CEO of Actelis, said, “Broadband service utilization in the large enterprise and residential markets continues on trajectories of solid growth, but the explosion of broadband service adoption in the mobile network and the rapid growth in demand for a variety of traditional and cloud-based broadband services in the medium and small enterprise are newer and very significant trends, Actelis' broadband solutions turn the installed base of copper plant into a strategic asset, accelerating time to market for ILECs, IOCs and CLECs wanting to offer a highly competitive combination of bandwidth and performance to a growing number of bandwidth constrained customers.”
