As technology advancements continue to penetrate and change the industry causing the demand for increased bandwidth to alleviate overtaxed networks, broadband providers such as Actelis (News - Alert) Networks and OneAccess are at the forefront of the market.
Recently, the two companies came together to integrate their innovate broadband solutions to create a complete, comprehensive offering that will not only help to meet the needs of the industry, but provide an efficient solution to streamline issues to come.
OneAccess (News - Alert), best known for providing multi-service access routers and Carrier Ethernet access devices, recently announced that the company will market a fully integrated access solution based on OneAccess' router platforms, which leverage the performance advantages of Actelis' patented, award-winning EFMplus™ and Dynamic Rate Boost (DRB) technologies.
In addition to leveraging Actelis’ technology, OneAccess will also co-market Actelis' product line of best-in-class Ethernet access devices and aggregation switches to help carriers and businesses worldwide significantly reduce their costs of deploying and operating SMB/branch business services.
"Service providers are calling for lower total cost of ownership," said Bertrand Meis (News - Alert), CEO of OneAccess Networks. "We believe that an end-to-end, integrated solution that combines Actelis' broadband access solutions uniquely positions OneAccess to embed intelligence into sophisticated customer premises-based routers that will provide a cost-effective broadband service delivery platform for business-class, managed and cloud-based services."
Together, OneAccess and Actelis’ Ethernet technologies make it possible to cost-effectively deliver a fiber-like experience over existing copper networks thanks to the consolidation of powerful Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking capabilities available in their integrated solution.
Lower costs and speed to market are clear advantages of an integrated Carrier Ethernet over copper solution, when compared to costly fiber installs or non-scalable legacy solutions such as T1/E1 lines, which are commonly used by SMBs and enterprises today and already leverage the existing copper, according to company officials. However, scaling T1/E1 lines to meet the needs of today's SMBs and enterprises is very expensive, and cannot easily evolve to enable next-generation EFM business services.
"SMBs and enterprises are at a crossroad today, faced with making a key business decision on how to best move forward with next-generation, business-class services, but do so pragmatically and economically without sacrificing bandwidth or their experience," said Vivek Ragavan, president and CEO of Actelis, The Broadband Acceleration Company and global leader of Ethernet over copper access equipment. "Innovation from OneAccess and Actelis pushes the broadband boundaries, significantly extending the rate and reach of EFM business services to almost every location, regardless of geography. We believe the integrated solution will enable carriers to meet customer demand cost effectively and immediately."
