Enterprise mobility management is rising to the top as a preeminent way for businesses and enterprises of all types to grapple with the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend. While BYOD helps workers get their work done faster and while they are on the road, it introduces security concerns that must be taken seriously.
The Center for Internet Security (CIS), is a nonprofit focused on enhancing the cyber security readiness for both the public and private sector, recognizes the issues around BYOD. That is why earlier this month it announced its new agreement with Fiberlink, a leading cloud-based enterprise mobility management firm.
Through the agreement, government agencies and educational institutions can now purchase Fiberlink’s MaaS360 (News - Alert) through the State of Michigan’s existing contract with the company.
MaaS360 simplifies mobile device management with rapid deployment and comprehensive visibility and control that spans across mobile devices, applications, and documents. It runs on everything from iOS and Android devices to Windows Phone (News - Alert), BlackBerry and Kindle Fire. Through the solution, organizations can rapidly enroll mobile devices, integrate mobile devices with enterprise systems, centrally manage and proactively secure mobile devices, and both streamline mobile device support and monitor and report upon these devices.
The agreement gives government agencies and educational institutions quick and cost-effective access to MaaS360, delivering a wide range of mobility and security requirements through CIS’s Trusted Purchasing Alliance.
By working through CIS, organizations save money but also get expert advice both from CIS and Fiberlink.
“We chose Fiberlink because of their experience and proven cloud-based solutions for mobility management,” said Kristin Judge, executive director of the CIS Trusted Purchasing Alliance. “By leveraging the buying power of our community to acquire solutions in an affordable way, we’re supporting our mission to improve the cyber security readiness and response of state, local, territorial, and tribal governments and nonprofits across the country.”
The agreement also highlights the proven effectiveness of Maas360.
“Winning the competitive bid with the State of Michigan says a lot about the flexibility, scalability and dependability of MaaS360,” said Eric Cunningham, vice president of North America sales at Fiberlink. “We’re proud to extend the great partnership with the State of Michigan to CIS government and educational customers to manage devices, secure their most valuable data, and maximize employee productivity while mobile.”
