Tablets, smartphones, laptops and other Internet-connected mobile devices have not just found their way into consumers’ hands; they’ve made their way into companies across the nation. IT managers today are encountering different devices and operating systems accessing a corporate network and this trend we like to call, “bring your own device” (BYOD). To effectively manage BYOD in enterprises, managers are turning to mobile device management (MDM) solutions. Gartner predicts that in the next five years, 65 percent of enterprises will adopt an MDM product.
Cloud-based MDM in particular is gaining traction in organizations for its flexibility, quick reaction ability and security features. The cloud is the future for all kinds of enterprise software as the mobile market continues to change rapidly.
CDG UK, a distributor of software technologies for IT service providers, and Fiberlink, a provider of cloud-based enterprise mobility management (EMM), have signed an agreement to support the growing demand for cloud-based mobile device management.
Chris Patton (News - Alert), commercial director at CDG UK said in a statement, “The market around MDM is growing as companies expand the range of devices that users can work from, Bring Your Own Device campaigns get started within businesses and the impact of mobile working is felt across organizations. Fiberlink’s approach to MDM and EMM provides a whole suit of solutions that can help customers manage their devices, control expenses and provide secure access to documents and applications. We are looking forward to helping the company expand its footprint in the U.K. through proactive support, marketing and partner recruitment initiatives.”
Fiberlink’s MaaS360 is the only 100 percent cloud-based mobility management platform that spans across devices, users, applications, documents and expenses. It offers features expected from a cloud solution, including fully redundant architecture, geographically load balanced, logical, physical and network level security, disaster recovery and automatic backups and rigorous audits and certifications to meet highest standards.
Its cloud security credentials include first and only AICPA SOC-2 Type II compliance since 2007, first and only MDM vendor to receive FISMA Authority to Operate, first certified CyberScope data feed vendor for the Federal Government, FIPS140-2 Compliant (Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 140-2), licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program and compliance with the EU Safe Harbor framework
“Fiberlink is rapidly expanding its market operations in the U.K. in response to market demand from both the channel and customers; moving to a two-tier channel model is therefore a natural step,” said Simon Peralta, sales director EMEA, Fiberlink. “Our partnership with CDG will provide us with a way to support this growth through extending our technical, market development and sales activities. CDGs strategy of focusing on innovation and proactive sales and marketing programs with both vendors and partners aligns well with our own approach to the market.”
