By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Provider of employee monitoring solutions SpectorSoft Corp. has announced the availability of SPECTOR 360 7.5, a corporate user activity monitoring solution

SPECTOR 360 monitors, captures, and analyzes all user and user group activity including: e-mail sent and received, chat/IM/BBM, websites visited, applications/programs accessed, web searches, phone calls, file transfers, and data printed or saved to removable devices.

Jason Judge, CEO at SpectorSoft, said that any enterprise that needs to know, understand and quickly address employee activities taking place across multiple devices and OSs can use SPECTOR 360 to gain immediate visibility into activities and start receiving actionable intelligence that can be used to reduce risk within days of deployment.

The newest version allows companies to extend granular monitoring, recording and alerting over all employee activities that are taking place on devices running Windows and Mac operating systems and company-issued BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphones.

SpectorSoft offers detailed employee monitoring of all corporate computing devices and operating systems. Thank to this detailed employee monitoring, customers have the advantage of unified visibility into employees' digital and mobile activities and behaviors.

Company officials said security teams can use the gained information to determine the “high risk behaviors.” In addition to identifying such behaviors, they can also address and immediately mitigate them, which can lead to data breaches, brand damage and business disruptions.

Michael Osterman, principal and founder of Osterman Research, said that Lack of visibility and insight into what employees are doing with sensitive and regulated information is leaving corporations vulnerable to threats and data breaches.

Calling SpectorSoft the “first security solutions provider to unify visibility into employee activities taking place across BlackBerry, Windows and Mac OSs, he said that it’s an  advancement that provides organizations with an “unprecedented level” of intelligence into how information is accessed and shared.

“This represents a leap forward that organizations can use to improve security, achieve compliance and reduce their risk exposure,” Osterman said.

The newest version of SPECTOR 360 comes with an enhanced range of features, including Blackberry Monitoring that allows customers to monitor and record call data, chat conversations and e-mails sent and received on mobile phones; BES Server Integration, which allows BlackBerry monitoring data to be drawn from the same source as the operational and systems management information.

Additional features include Quick View Reports, which are an additional 25 turnkey reports that are customizable to unique business environments, while Intelligent Activity Drill-Down enables users to quickly identify actions in question, eliminating the need to sort through tens of thousands of actions in a single day.

"By adding monitoring for BlackBerry, we are giving our customers unified visibility into activities that take place across the most frequently used computing and mobile platforms, allowing them to improve their security and compliance programs significantly,” said Nick Cavalancia, vice president of marketing at SpectorSoft.

Earlier in December, SpectorSoft announced the launch of free safe-driving app detext.
