DataSift Announces Partnership with Moreover Technologies

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

In an effort to expand its partner community and specialist industry services, DataSift, the real-time data filtering platform and licensed re-syndicator of Twitter (News - Alert), has joined hands with media monitoring application developer, Moreover Technologies.

Under the terms of this partnership agreement, Moreover will be able to leverage DataSift’s platform. Precisely, Moreover’s applications can now have access to real-time Twitter feed and other social media via DataSift’s platform.

The DataSift real-time social media data-filtering platform is one of the only two licensed re-syndicators of Twitter data globally. This self-service platform provides 100 percent of the real-time Twitter stream with all the social meta data, including enriched augmentations such as geo-location, social influence and sentiment analysis all in one place, delivered through API and extensive analytics partnerships.

According to a press release, Moreover’s Newsdesk platform will now be able to offer services on top of the DataSift platform, enabling DataSift customers to benefit from receiving DataSift data through the comprehensive news aggregation services of Newsdesk’s unified news and media portal.

Featuring robust finding and filtering capabilities, the Newsdesk platform provides a unified portal access to three million-plus online news and social media sources, forums and syndicated newspaper clippings from multiple countries. In addition, the Newsdesk also provides access to a service for introducing additional licensed content streams specific to one’s needs.

Apart from enabling Moreover to enhance its services by incorporating the enriched data and augmentation options on offer through the DataSift platform, the partnership will also enable Moreover to provide DataSift’s services to press clipping agencies and media monitoring firms for its own analytical services.

Paul Farrell, president of Moreover Technologies, said in a press release, “We are leveraging DataSift’s semantic analysis and data enrichment options and layering this with our own categorization processes to improve access to actionable intelligence, making it even easier for customers to analyze and organize information for detailed insights in one concise view.”

“This further strengthens our extensive news and social media monitoring platform, providing ever-stronger unified portal access to opinion-forming media conversations, and giving companies the ability to get truly synthesized information about what is impacting their brand and reputation.”

Nick Halstead, founder and CEO of DataSift, said in a statement, “By partnering with Moreover, DataSift adds to its network of analytics partners an established specialist in news aggregation, analytics and research insight.”

In recent news, DataSift announced a $6 million round of VC funding co-led by IA Ventures and GRP Partners, wherein the $6 million investment will be used to build global sales and support teams to service the surge in demand the company is seeing for providing its real-time feed, said a release.
