NEI Takes Home Product of the Year Award, Honored for Innovation

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Canton, Massachusetts- based NEI, a provider of appliance technology, products and services, makes it possible for its customers to better manage, deploy and support their application solutions.

Recently, the company was awarded a 2008 Product of the Year award by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine for its SN-2500 R2 offering.

The award recognizes the most innovated products of 2008 and highlights NEI's vision, leadership and attention to detail.

"With hundreds of applications again this year, the judging process was difficult, however NEI’s SN-2500 R2 demonstrates a valuable commitment to the advancement of the IP communications industry. NEI deserves this honor, and I look forward to seeing more innovative solutions from them as they continue to contribute to the future of VoIP and IP communications infrastructure,” stated TMC Editorial Director, Greg Galitzine (News - Alert).

The SN-2500 R2 is a storage subsystem that provides external SAN storage optimized to deliver up to 48 TB capacity with a variety of RAID levels.

According to the company, the storage path offers an "excellent integration path for data storage and disaster recovery for your mission-critical security, storage, networking and communications applications."

With SN-2500 R2, customers can choose between a fiber channel, SAS (News - Alert) or iSCSI interface as well as choose between AC or DC power.

Jeff Hudgins, vice president of marketing, NEI said the company responded to the increasing need for data storage and access in the current market by launching a product that offered the flexibility and modularity to enable faster access with the SN-2500 R2.

“This award validates our momentum in the market as more OEMs and ISVs are looking for carrier-grade storage systems with NEBS Level 3 certification. The SN-2500 R2 accelerates time-to-market and increases business efficiencies for our customers,” said Hudgins.

A full list of the Product of the Year Award winners will be published in the February 2009 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine (www.itmag.com).
