NEI Announces SN-2500 R2 SAN Storage Subsystem

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

NEI, a provider of appliance technology, products and services, has announced the general availability of the new SN-2500 R2 SAN Storage Subsystem with high flexibility, capacity and scalability. NEI is targeting their new carrier grade, highly reliable, NEBS Level 3 certified rack SAN storage subsystem at telecom OEMs and ISVs.

The SN-2500 R2 allows customers to choose between fiber channel, SAS (News - Alert) or iSCSI interfaces and also offers a choice between AC or DC power. This customizable platform enables customers to choose between SAS, SATA hard drives or a combination of the two and allows them to pick the system that best meets their storage needs and customer data lifecycle requirements all in the same form factor.

NEI’s officials explain that the SN-2500 R2 provides external SAN storage optimized to deliver up to 48 TB capacity with support for a wide range of RAID levels. Thanks to the modular nature of the platform, customers can also dynamically scale capacity and performance based on market positioning or customer needs.

This long life system also provides benefits such as an excellent integration path for supplemental data storage and disaster recovery for mission-critical security, storage, networking and communications applications. The new SN-2500 R2 SAN Storage Subsystem is fully validated with ATCA blades and NEBS servers and is NEBS Level 3 and ETSI (News - Alert) certified.

Jeff Hudgins, vice president of marketing, NEI, explained that the market is experiencing a rapidly growing increase in the needs for data storage and access. Driven by this increase, NEI decided to launch a product that offered the flexibility and modularity to enable faster access with the SN-2500 R2.

The company tested and validated this system to provide carrier grade storage and to work in conjunction with NEI’s ATCA and NEBS product lines to deliver a complete solution that accelerates time to market and increases business efficiencies.

NEI will be hosting a free Webinar today at 2 p.m. EST to help software developers reduce costs and boost revenues in this slower economy.
