Hands-on lab testing organization Enterprise Strategy Group (News - Alert) (ESG) is always working to test out the best-in-class solutions that enterprise companies rely on when it comes to technology use. Its most recent recommendation targets enterprise-class IT organizations utilizing virtualized computing environments. For these types, ESG puts SolidFire’s all-flash products to suit the next-gen data center.
"If your organization is frustrated with the limitations of traditional storage for scale-out workloads and you're striving to deliver IT-as-a-Service from a next-generation data center, ESG Labs strongly recommends that you consider SolidFire for the enterprise,” notes the report, published this month.
ESG looks at a few categories and tests based on criteria within, including agility and automation, efficiency and reliability, and scalability.
"SolidFire has been anticipating the needs of the next-generation enterprise-class data center since its inception," commented ESG Lab Analyst, Aviv Kaufmann in a statement to the press. "The system was designed to solve the problems that were frustrating cloud service providers who years ago were far ahead of the enterprise in trying to cost-effectively meet the extreme agility, scalability, and guaranteed performance requirements of a multi-tenant service provider."
ESG was able to quickly deploy virtual desktops, volumes, and cloud-based operating system instances on a SolidFire storage system in seconds, from native application use interfaces like VMware and OpenStack, with just a few clicks.
It helps in getting applications to market faster, better and far more cost effectively. Its virtual appliance architecture is easily transferable, manageable and scalable.
“ESG Lab testing confirmed that only SolidFire uses a pacing approach that can be used to deliver a guaranteed minimum number of IOPS to every volume, resulting in predictable performance for all of the applications sharing a SolidFire cluster,” notes the report.
