Exinda now delivers a network appliance deployment solution that combines WAN optimization, network control and application monitoring into an integrated solution to meet the growing needs of midmarket enterprises and educational institutions.
According to Jim Rapoza, senior network analyst for Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group, there has been significant growth within network management tools as of late, but integration among them is lacking. This has increased the complexity of networks.
“However, there has been a push among companies to deploy products that offer a single integrated platform for network control, along with deep visibility into user experience and application performance,” Rapoza said.
Featuring the latest 6.4 firmware, the new appliance allows network managers to ensure application service level agreements (SLAs) are upheld over the WAN and Internet in today’s highly demanding environment. The solution also allows midmarket enterprises to seamlessly cluster multiple Exinda appliances in high availability and load balanced environments, allowing appliances to share configuration, monitoring information and policies as if they were a single appliance.
With faster optimization of SMBv2 and MAPI traffic, organizations can easily accelerate large file transfers with this product in place. This is highly beneficial for mid market enterprises in particular that need to manage their data between headquarters and branch locations.
Another important capability of the new appliance is the SSL capabilities that allow network managers to conduct certificate management from a central location without worrying about locating and installing the public CA (News - Alert) certificates. This simplifies the configuration and speeds up the deployment of HTTPS acceleration.
Exinda WAN appliances can also create a baseline Application Performance Score (APS) by monitoring application traffic for an hour, a day or a week, so network managers can assess and assure the performance of all business-critical applications.
With this latest release, the company is empowering network managers to have better control over their network as well as deliver a more predictable user experience for applications that rely on it. It helps meet user demand, manage costs, and maintain or improve the overall quality of the network and application experience alike.
