Appliance deployment specialist NEI recently attended the year’s major security event, the RSA (News - Alert) Conference, and highlighted some of the conversations held on the show floor. Having demonstrated its new security products for the enterprise computing environment, NEI (News - Alert) had a busy week on delivering information on how to best secure data in a tech-heavy era.
NEI’s contribution to the conference made it easy for attendees to understand the importance of computer protection by hosting presentations delivered by professionals from Intel, rPath, Dell (News - Alert) OEM Solutions Group and more.
Looking back on the event, NEI’s Jeff Hudgins noted that the current trends in the market dictate how customers are searching for more flexible and robust solutions. Hudgins writes that OpenFlow and software defined networking (SDN) are becoming a big deal with cloud providers. When it comes to appliance deployment in the cloud, customers are looking to reduce their physical infrastructure and cost. Moving virtual appliances into the cloud requires new strategies for development, provisioning, maintaining, and updating virtual appliances.
“Both OpenFlow and SDN are becoming the “go-to” tool for providing true network security without becoming the network bottleneck,” said Hudgins.

NEI’s RSA involvement follows the company’s announcement of its partnership with WHIPTAIL, a flash storage arrays provider, where NEI will manufacture the ACCELA and the hyperscale INVICTA for customers worldwide.
The appliance deployment provider was chosen for its experience in solution design, manufacturing, global logistics and lifecycle management.
“We have a unique skill set in this industry that enables young companies to economically and efficiently bring their products to market and compete with established players on a level playing field,” said Hudgins at the time of announcement.
The company is also helping Dell in the telecommunications market, as it designed and built a portfolio of customized Dell PowerEdge solutions.
