NEI (News - Alert), a provider of application platforms, software appliance deployment solutions and lifecycle support services, has been selected as a manufacturing partner by WHIPTAIL, a provider of innovative flash storage arrays.
The data storage innovator selected NEI to meet the growing demand for the WHIPTAIL family of products. The appliance deployment company will provide its expertise in storage, security and communications industry.
As part of the partnership, NEI manufactures WHIPTAIL’s full range of all-flash storage arrays, including the ACCELA and the hyperscale INVICTA for customers worldwide.
The decision to select NEI as its manufacturing partner is driven by WHIPTAIL’s rapid growth. The company, which began shipping the products a little over two years ago, has now broken the 200 customer threshold.
WHIPTAIL CEO Dan Crain said in a statement that “When we were a small company, we could handle our own manufacturing, but that’s not the case anymore. NEI has a commitment to quality workmanship and very efficient business operations. The company takes pride in delivering and supporting a high-quality, reliable product, and that’s what our customers expect.”
NEI has extensive experience in solution design, manufacturing, global logistics and lifecycle management. WHIPTAIL can then leverage this expertise to speed up time to market for its storage arrays. As a result, the company can increase its focus on its core business.
The appliance deployment provider’s strength lies in its LEAD (Lifecycle Engine for Application Deployment) System, which includes all steps from design, integration, management, logistics and more. This model helps the company deliver and support powerful, affordable appliance solutions to serve software developers like WHIPTAIL.
“We have a unique skill set in this industry that enables young companies to economically and efficiently bring their products to market and compete with established players on a level playing field,” added Jeff Hudgins (News - Alert), VP of marketing at NEI.
