New Relic Offers On-Demand Application Performance Management Services for Business Web Applications

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

New Relic, Inc., a premier software-as-a-service provider of application performance management solutions, introduced on-demand application performance management for business-critical Web applications deployed on AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

The newly launched New Relic RPM can be used by organizations to monitor, troubleshoot and tune applications deployed on AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

To deliver a highly reliable, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure, Elastic Beanstalk leverages AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Elastic Load Balancing, and Auto-Scaling. Deploying applications in the AWS cloud, became even easier because it handles the provisioning and deployment of the infrastructure needed to run the application.

The developers, with the help of Elastic Beanstalk, are allowed to retain full control over the AWS resources powering their application and can access the underlying resources at any time.

Zestia, a provider of cloud-based solutions for businesses, uses New Relic RPM to manage the performance of applications deployed in Amazon Web Services (News - Alert). Its flagship product, Capsule, is an easy to use Web-based CRM solution for small businesses and sales teams. The company is based in Manchester, U.K. and has customers in more than 50 countries. "Having the ability to deploy and scale applications easily on AWS, and then monitor and troubleshoot them with New Relic has allowed our business to handle significant customer growth and react rapidly to meet their needs," said Phillip Haines, CTO of Zestia, in a press release. "By creating a fully managed environment that puts greater control over the application into our hands, the addition of AWS Elastic Beanstalk will make it even easier to meet our customers' expectations."

For Java, Ruby, PHP and .NET (News - Alert) Web applications, New Relic RPM provides deep, 24/7 visibility and code-level diagnostics. RPM, designed to be deployed in minutes in traditional datacenters or in the cloud, is used by organizations today to manage applications on AWS and has been thoroughly tested on AWS Elastic Beanstalk. To quickly and cost effectively monitor production application health 24/7, identify and triage potential application issues, and better ensure long-term application performance, development teams deploying applications on Elastic Beanstalk can use RPM.

"Elastic Beanstalk makes it even easier to take advantage of the reliable, scalable, and cost-effective AWS technology infrastructure services," said Brian White, director of AWS Elastic Beanstalk, in a press release. "Elastic Beanstalk, combined with New Relic's application performance management, gives developers valuable insights into diagnosing and tuning their applications to ensure superior service delivery."

"For some time now, New Relic has been providing real-time, on-demand application performance management services for organizations with applications deployed in Amazon Web Services, and we are pleased to be working closely with the AWS team to support Elastic Beanstalk," said Bill Lapcevic, New Relic's vice president of business development, in a statement. "RPM was built from the beginning to deliver a greater level of application visibility and control by combining ease of use with world-class features -- the same guiding principles behind AWS Elastic Beanstalk. New Relic and Amazon Web Services are making it easy for organizations to deploy cloud-based business services that successfully meet end-user expectations and business goals."

In other industry news, as part of an expanded distribution relationship, Fluke Networks (News - Alert), parent company of Visual Network Systems and application performance management solution provider, will offer resellers a robust registration program and dedicated support at Ingram Micro (News - Alert), enabling them to better satisfy their customers and deliver more value at each transaction.
