NEI's LEAD System Helps Drive Effective Appliance Deployment

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

As the world continues to become more connected every day, the demand for access to appliance deployment is increasing in a variety of ways. Technology providers hoping to meet customer needs have to consider cloud, virtual and physical deployment models. And, to ensure they can maximize the potential revenue in the market, deployments often require all three.

This is much easier said than done, however, as captured in this NEI (News - Alert) article. Each method of appliance deployment requires its own model, which can be complex and full of details that can be difficult to navigate. If the provider is trying to manage multiple partners at one time in order to deliver a single solution, their risk also rapidly increases. The true test to pass before moving forward is whether or not the individual has the time, money, and resources to address these challenges so appliance deployment can ensure success.

To help in the process, NEI has introduced the LEAD System. The company aims to redefine the application deployment process so that companies can maximize the revenue potential in the market and technology providers can gain that competitive edge. LEAD (Lifecycle Engine for Application Deployment) was developed as a way to help providers to solve the challenges that are involved in appliance deployment.

In basic terms, the LEAD system is purposely designed to optimize appliance deployment across physical, virtual and cloud models. With a single controlled image, NEI can address the overall deployment strategy to ensure its customers can deploy the same image, and deliver the same performance and lifecycle—to deliver considerable savings in terms of time and money.

The LEAD system offers a solution design which will create the optimum lifecycle managed solution, which can include image creation, third party components, hardware selection and more; system integration with full manufacturing and integration capabilities; application management through unique software developed to deliver automated updates, monitor the health of the system; perform backups and manage the appliances after appliance deployment; global logistics to ease the transport and inventory management of products; and support and maintenance to extend the produce life span and maximize total uptime.

With such a focus on appliance deployment and management, NEI customers have gained access to the ability to deploy faster, more efficiently, and far more cost effectively. At the same time, they can also remain focused on their core competencies that drive the business. A focus on quality appliance deployment is essential for ultimate success in the global market.
