Grandstream Intros IP PBX with babyTEL VoIP SIP

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Grandstream Networks (News - Alert) today announced that its new IP-PBX series, the GXE502x, has achieved interoperability with the SIP network of social VoIP provider babyTEL.

Company officials announced the availability of the babyTEL SIP Trunk and associated VoIP features, bundled with Grandstream’s all-in-1 IPPBX, and said that they’re certified as interoperable by both companies.

The certification, officials said, guarantees that babyTEL’s carrier-grade VoIP service works seamlessly with the Grandstream’s IP-PBX.

The GXE502x appliance is an all-in-one voice, video, fax, and data communication solution for small to medium-sized business, especially companies with sub-30 seats per location, according to Grandstream and babyTEL.

BabyTEL (News - Alert) officials say the company plans to offer a bundle for their services with GXE502x. The services were developed to meet the requirements of today’s businesses that need to support virtual presences, multiple locations, satellite offices, mobile work force and tele-workers, according to the company.

Saying his company is pleased to have achieved the interoperability with babyTEL, David Li (News - Alert), chief executive officer at Grandstream, said “SIP trunking partners like babyTEL maximize the product’s value by assuring full interoperability and premium quality IP call termination for the GXE502x.”

He said that the babyTEL-Grandstream partnership marks the company’s continued commitment to offering broadly interoperable and powerful IP voice solutions to the SMB market.

“This announcement represents babyTEL’s continued commitment to providing cost effective VoIP solutions to the SMB,” said Stephen Dorsey, president and chief executive officer at babyTEL.

Dorsey said that the combined solution is loaded with valuable features and benefits, adding, “We look forward to supporting Grandstream dealers in offering a total telephone solution to the business community.”

Brookline, Massachusetts-based Grandstream Networks is a designer and manufacturer of next generation IP voice and video products for broadband networks.

Last month, Grandstream Networks and RNK Communications (News - Alert) announced that Grandstream’s all-in-1 IPPBX, the GXE502x has been tested and certified interoperable with RNK Communications’ global VoIP network. The two companies have also teamed efforts to create a one button provisioning protocol to easily provision edge CPE devices onto RNK Communications’ targeted VoIP network.
